Planning Fines: Cancellation & Trial Options

By Adv. Yechiel Rachamim Menahemov & Adv. Assaf ShpigelPublished:

The practical dilemma

A building inspection produces a substantial administrative fine. You dispute the notice and its deadlines are approaching.

The legal position

The Administrative Offences Law, regulations and served notice govern the response. Cancellation or trial requests are generally due within 30 days of service, and payment within 60 days, with a further route following timely cancellation rejection. Check exceptions and extensions. The amount depends on offence, location and scale. A cancellation request does not necessarily suspend other enforcement. Official source 1

Your next step

Preserve the notice and service confirmation and diary deadlines. Review permits, use, measurements and responsibility. Choose a route after assessing evidence and risk; pursuing a permit does not itself cancel an existing fine.
